Hello, my name is Pia,

A few sentences which I hope will allow you to get an idea of who I am ...

I have always had the intimate conviction that there was something bigger than us, stronger, immeasurable but just as vibrant and sensitive in me, in man, woman and nature.

It all started in 2015, I instinctively and alone discovered the practice of yoga. When writing my master’s dissertation, my day-to-day routine was punctuated by half-hour stretching and breathing sessions. At the time, I wanted to be more flexible and touch my feet ... I was, without knowing it, unifying my body, my mind and practicing mindfulness!

Loving to travel since childhood (who does not like?), I left France after my studies in 2015 to settle and work in Lisbon (at the time in wines and spirits business). I started taking yoga classes with Abdul Jussud, my first guru. He always told us to smile during class. I had the chance to do private session with him and to move in deeper preparation.

After two years in Portugal and a trip to the Algarve, I realized that my life had to take a turn; something was there, very real, vibrant ... I dreamed of consciousness living. I needed to follow my inner voice. It was the Yoga’s calling.

I needed to know more on this thirst of knowledge, this lifestyle, this practice ... I knew that I was only at the beginning of my learning and reconversion. I went to India for the first time (winter 2017) to practice with purists, Indians and yogis for 3 months. I was trained in Rishikesh with Sandy (Hatha) and Aravind (Ashtanga), an atypical radiant couple, beautiful and strong. I understood for the first time the meaning of tolerance, unconditional love & non judgment. Anahata, Vishudda and Agna chakras has opened during a lunar meditation.

I continued my trip, Hampi, Sivananda Ashram to Kerala (incredible experience!), Palolem where I met on my way, Krishna Baba, another guru; who gave me my first gift, Bhagavad Gita, the djembe jam session, the stories of the Gods, his cooking class, Tulsi his cat ...

This is where the Indian word "Guru" makes sense. Each personality that I met had made a contribution to my inspiration in the insatiable range of yoga, asanas, philosophy, pranayamas, Bakti yoga, prana ... Finding your aspirants is a great adventure! They carried me and supported me ... Thank you to them!

I passed my TTC (Teacher Training Course) 200h in traditional Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa in 2017, 100h improvement in 2018 in India, taught more than 400 hours, travelled and shared in Ashrams and practice in south India in 2019 (Mysore, Varkala) ... India is now an annual step, my pilgrimage for personal experience and development.

Thanks to the Yamina Lodge complex, I set up a unique and zen shala for the practice of Yoga in CapFerret all year long. I am still on the road to learn and I know it will take more than a lifetime to know all the secrets of yoga. I teach a practice that speaks to me and which is an integral part of my philosophy. When I'm on my yoga mat, I forget everything and When I teach, I give all my devotion and my love of yoga.

#stayconnected

Pia
